Weekend In Review 04/04-04/06

I'll start off by saying that I wish I took more pics.

Our weekend started off by making a trip up to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some bedding for our new King Size Bed. We upgraded to a King size, so had no bedding to accomodate it. After a the trip to BB&B, we headed to The Pub in Rookwood to get a beer. We saw a guy in a Johnson Investments shirt to assumed he worked with Jill. Paul took a pic of him with my cell phone, and we forwarded it to Jill for confirmation. We also hit Homegoods on the way to our car, and bought some queen size pillows to replace all the pillows we have in the house.

From there we took a car home and went up to Grammer's in Over the Rhine, this is where I wished I had my real camera. They have leaded glass windows, and lots of beer steins, etc all over the place. I really could have taken some pictures to share. Paul and I spent our time there, having a couple OTR (Over the Rhine) beers, eating popcorn, and I got a Trivial Pursuit Game and started asking Paul the questions. He is actually pretty good, I would say getting 75% of random trivia correct. Now, he believes that the fact that he knows more of the answers to a TRIVIA game means he is smarter than me, but I beg to differ. BTW...I am NOT a good partner in Trivial Pursuit. : ) We followed the popcorn with a brat and mett, and called it a night. Went home and washed the new sheets hoping to sleep in the bed that night. The sheets did not dry in time, so we slept in the guest room.

Saturday was a gorgeous day in the Nati. I got up and took Buddy for a walk in the park, then back out for some bedding shopping we went. I had my eye on a quilt from West Elm that I saw on the internet. We went up to Linens and Things first, and got some pillow protectors for the new pillows we bought the night before. Then, it was getting close to lunch time (11AM), so we conveniently stopped at PotBelly for a sandwich. Finally made our way over to West Elm and looked at the quilt I saw on line. We wound up getting it and 3 Euro Pillow shams, which we had no pillows to fill. (they were $24 a piece there, and we thought we could find less expensive ones.) After the drive home, and a workout, we went back out to meet our friends Kathie and Joe. We we to the Washington Platform for the annual Oyster Festival. We had all kinds of oysters, and had a great time with them, as always. We took our camera, but didn't take any pics that night!

Sunday morning comes around too early. I again, took Buddy for a walk, and then we headed off to the Ronald Mc Donald house where we volunteer from 9-1. We actually had to train a woman and her 2 kids, they were so cute, and it was a fun change of pace there. From there we went to the ESS (storage locker) to rearrange our locker with my mom and dad. We also went to Margaritas, and sat outside to dine for the first time this year! : ) After lunch, and a quick trip to Dillards, we went home, I dropped Paul off, and I went out in search of cheap euro pillows. I went back to Home Goods, and found some Nautica dark colored ones for $7 each. There were 3 of them, but they were all dark red and navy, and I wasn't sure if the shams would cover the dark colors, but thought it was worth a try. Well, to my surprise, they worked out. Here is our new bed!

'Nati Glinks - Opening Day 2008

So, I tried to create a family Blog. It didn't seem to catch on so much. We are going to start a public Blog for now, until Mr. Paulie Walnuts can figure out how (and/or have enough time) to make a cool website, like our Uber Cool friends, Bill and Tim.

Today is Opening Day for the Reds. We were going to take half days of vaca and head to the pre game festivities (no tickets). We played it by ear and since it is sooo rainy out we decided against wasting our precious vacation days, and worked this afternoon. I am working from home today, so I keep hearing the "clanging" of beer bottles being thrown into the dumpster at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse. People are chug a lugging! Here is the Boathouse with the dampness:

There is a lot of activity outside the condo today. It is fun to see, even if the weather did not cooperate.
